Lent is the season between Ash Wednesday and Holy Week before Easter when we focus on growing in our faith.
Gardens in the Bible - This is our sermon series during Lent and we hope you can join us.
Read Through Mark - There are bookmarks available at church with readings that will take us through the Gospel of Mark beginning Monday, March 10 through Easter.
Wesley Groups - There are multiple groups meeting after worship and through the week during Lent for prayer, study and sharing. We call them Wesley Groups because these kinds of small groups were the key to the growth of early Methodism, and are key to our growth as disciples today. All are welcome.
40 Cans for Lent Mission - Could you donate 40 cans this Lent? The South Portland Food Cupboard has asked us for condensed chicken noodle soup (10.5 oz cans please) & canned tuna packed in water (CANS please, no packets or pouches). OR feel free to donate cash in any amount (to THUMC with 40 Cans in the memo line) or donate online.
Lent Lighthouse Gatherings - The United Methodist Churches (Thornton Heights, Peoples and Cape Elizabeth) are gathering at Cape Elizabeth UMC on March 5, March 19 and April 9 for prayer and conversation. All are welcome.
Holy Week - Palm Sunday is April 13, Maundy Thursday is April 17 and Good Friday is April 18. We will be hosting gatherings at Thornton Heights and Peoples on Holy Week and Easter sunrise at at Two Lights on April 20.
