The Thornton Heights United Methodist Church serves the community and world with Christ’s love in response to his love for us. Here are just a few of the ways you can join us in serving:
Family Promise – Providing resources and assisting asylum seekers and others to move into permanent housing. Click on this link to volunteer at Family Promise:
Grace Street Ministry – Most of our mission work here consists of donating supplies. Please contact Grace Street directly if interested in serving on the streets.
South Portland Food Cupboard – Providing food and resources to those in need within the City of South Portland. Many folks in our church serve regularly in various ways. The volunteer signup is on the SPFC webpage.
Pastor’s Discretionary Fund – This is a fund for for the pastor to help those in need of assistance within the congregation as well as the community. We distribute Hannaford and Irving gift cards and provide fuel and other assistance as funds allow. You may donate by mailing a check to the church or making an online payment. Please note in the memo line that your donation is for the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund. See our Donations Page for more information.
